Shechter joined Maccabi Tel Aviv on a free transfer from Beitar Jerusalem where he
spent the last couple of seasons scoring 29 goals in 77 matches in all competitions.
Shechter made his senior debut at the age of 19 with Hapoel Nazareth Ilit in 2005/6 also played for Maccabi Netanya, Hapoel Tel Aviv, FC Kaiserslautern, Swansea City, Nantes and Maccabi Haifa also scored 5 goals in 27 appearances for the Israel national team.
