Maccabi Tel Aviv FC completed the signing of Jair Amador and joined the club on free transfer from SD Huesca at the start of the 2018/19 season. The 28-year-old central defender, who was born in Portugal but spent most of his life in Spain, signed a three-year-deal at the club.

In his first year at Maccabi, Jair, made 33 appearances in all competitions and won his first championship at the end of the 2018/19 season.

This following season, the towering 30-year-old center back played a pivotal role in one of the tightest defenses in the club’s history. Jair played 39 matches in all competitions and won his second championship in succession and 24^th in the club’s history
