Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder is preparing for the final match of the season against Maccabi Petah Tikva

“The players want to thank Pako for helping us achieving our goals”, stated Alberman. “We weren’t in an ideal situation when he arrived at the beginning of the season, but he was able to motivate us and we need to thank him. We went through a rough patch during the Champions League qualifiers because of the war. It was very hard for people to stay focused on our goals.”

Following the defeat to Beitar Jerusalem Alberman insists that the goals for this game are completely different: “As athletes we always want to win. We felt bad with the loss in Jerusalem. I don’t know anyone who enjoys losing.”

Alberman spoke about the captain’s, Sheran Yeini’s departure: “It wasn’t easy to see Sheran ending his time in Maccabi. We went through some difficult times together. I am happy he made the decision to leave now. He had a monumental part in building the new Maccabi Tel Aviv. We are proud of his achievements and we’ll cross our fingers for him to succeed. People don’t know how important he is for the club. There will be a massive void when he’s gone and many individuals, myself included, will have to fill it. I am not concerned with the captaincy. I am in a position as a veteran player who can help the team with or without the armband”.
