Maccabi Tel Aviv picked us their first league win last night when they defeated Kiryat Shemona 2:1 away at the Acre Stadium on Matchday 2. One of the Yellow & Blue standouts was undoubtedly Ofir Davidzada who assisted on Omer Atzili’s first goal of the night.

The left defender commented about his solid start to the season:
“I feel great, I’m very happy to assist on goals and where my physical fitness is. That was my goal, to start the season off well after a year where I didn’t play much. I’m very happy about that and my goal is to continue improving and to keep up the good play.”

About playing a less offensive position due to Maccabi playing with 3 central defenders:
“I’m comfortable with both formations and I’m happy that we have two formations as well as it gives us a variety of ways to play. It’s very healthy and it can surprise our opponents. I’m playing well in this position but there is still plenty of work to do and I’m sure that we will continue to improve.”

Maccabi’s improvement since the start of the season back in June:
“I feel that everything is beginning to come together. Nick Blackman played very well in his debut especially after having not played in a while. He looked very hungry, he’s working hard for the club, he battled and he’s a player who will help us a lot. The other new players are looking good as well and as time goes by they are becoming more and more a part of the club.”
