Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv (U17) played the Hakoach Ramat Gan Under-19 club as they prepare for the 2017/18 campaign. The Yellow & Blue defeated Ramat Gan 3:0 on goals by Raava Assayag, Tal Yogadayev and Abe Ben Ami. This coming Saturday, the Under-17 side will face Beitar Tubruk on Matchday 1 to open the season at Kiryat Shalom, 09:00.
Head Coach Eliezer Ben Aharon will look to continue the positive momentum from last season when Maccabi “Oded” won the Double as Dedi Ben Dayan joined the staff as an assistant coach while Kale Dreshler moved into the goalkeeping coach’s role.
Ben Aharon summed up the club’s progress so far: “We began training a month and a half ago and we are continuing to improve while implementing the club’s philosophy. Of course there’s no question that it’s much easier this season to do as it’s the second campaign that we are working this way. The new staff, the players and myself are learning from each other each and every training session and that’s part of the challenge. I personally enjoy new things. We just held the final friendly before the new season begins and even though we won 3:0 we continue to learn as to where we still need to improve and make improvements. I hope that together we will be able to repeat last season’s success.
