Itamar Noy made a second half substitute appearance in the 1-0 defeat to Dynamo Kyiv in the return leg of the Europa League Playoff. The midfielder who joined Maccabi in the summer, celebrated qualification to the Europa League at the first time of asking as Maccabi secured a 3-2 aggregate victory to advance through. After securing qualification, Noy said: “I hope we’ll make the fans proud.”

 

Itamar Noy, who came on as a substitute at halftime, spoke at the end of the match about his feelings following the team’s qualification to the Europa League:
“It wasn’t easy, but I’m happy we pulled through. It’s very exciting, a dream, a great joy. I hope we will show in the Europa League that we deserve to be at this level. That we will play well and get good results. I am really looking forward to it.”
On his summer move to the club, and how Thursdays will now look different:
“It is amazing. Sometimes the transition feels very fast. It seems so far away and then suddenly things come together, they go well, and you find yourself right there. It is a dream come true, and I hope we will put in good performances and make the fans proud of us.”
Finally, he shared the thought that had been with him since the start of the season about reaching a European league phase?: “It was always there in my mind. Unfortunately, we can not play at Bloomfield, which is a bit of a disappointment, but I’m sure we will get the push (from our fans) in the league. Already on Sunday we’re waiting to see everyone come and support us. I hope we’ll make the fans proud.”
