Tenenbaum’s message at the lone soldiers activity

Maccabi Tel Aviv foundation and Pizza Prego together with ‘Big Brother’ organization, complimented last night (Saturday) lone soldiers at two centers for lone soldiers – to mark Family day.

Every Saturday night lone soldiers enjoy a different social activity set up by volunteers from the ‘Big Brother’ organization, as last night, following the end of lockdown and the return to normality, they were joined by Maccabi representatives for a Pizza and Karaoke night which was provided by our sponsor ‘Pizza Prego’ and included pizza’s and scarves.

In addition, Maccabi’s goalkeeper, Daniel Tenenbaum, a former lone soldier himself during his IDF Military service, sent the soldiers a recorded video message where he greeted them on Family day from the Maccabi Tel Aviv family that you can view right here below.

Maccabi Foundation, Pizza Prego support Homefront troops

The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Foundation is continuing its activities in the community and on Sunday, in conjunction with sponsors Pizza Prego it sent four of the club’s first team players to the Homefront Command’s logistics centre in Bnei Brak, one of the urban areas hardest hit in Israel by the coronavirus outbreak.

Players Dor Micha, Eyal Golasa, Dan Glazer and Daniel Tenenbaum ensured that the soldiers, who are working around the clock to support the local population, were well fed with pizza and soft drinks.

On Sunday alone, the logistics centre dispatched 1,500 packs to families registered with the Bnei Brak municipality. Soldiers from across the Israel Defence Forces have delivered supplies from the logistics centre to the town’s residents.

Maccabi Foundation ensuring veteran fans are not alone

The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Foundation is continuing to play its part to help the community during these past weeks of lockdown, and on Sunday it began another project, in partnership with business partner “Hayevuan” and 150 special holiday gift packages have been prepared for distribution to the club’s veteran supporters aged over 70.

The over-70s are our most venerable supporters. They have followed us for decades, and now they are forced to stay at home in order to stay healthy and see out the coronavirus crisis from a safe distance.

On Monday morning, Maccabi supporters groups “Maccabi Fanatics” and “Ahim Lasemel” joined some of the players from the first team and the youth team. They collected the packages and began to distribute them at the entrance of the homes of their intended recipients, ensuring that Maccabi’s veteran fans are never forgotten.

Cohen and Tenenbaum celebrate with lone soldiers

The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Foundation held its traditional celebration on the last night of Hanukka on Sunday together with the Lone Soldier Center in Memory of Michael Levin.

Maccabi players Daniel Tenenbaum and Yonatan Cohen met dozens of lone IDF soldiers at Beit Jabotinsky in Tel Aviv for a candle lighting of the eighth and final night of the Jewish Festival of Light and a meal catered by club sponsors Pizza Prego, who provided their delightful products.

After all those present had eaten to their hearts’ content, they heard from speaker Ohad Yifrach, a cerebral palsy sufferer and a Maccabi supporter, who told of his life experiences growing up with the disability, raising a family and working in high tech.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Foundation and the Lone Soldier Center in Memory of Michael Levin have collaborated for a number of years to host soldiers who face the unique challenges of serving without the support of family members who live close by.

Yeini credits Maccabi’s success for helping him

Maccabi Tel Aviv captain Sheran Yeini was one of several players who visited Safra Children’s Hospital at Tel Hashomer on Wednesday where they brought ailing kids good wishes and gifts for Hanukkah. He talked about his own recovery from injury and the club’s form this season.

“There are patients here with difficult injuries and ailments and they will need a long period of recovery. They enjoy welcoming us but we also feel good about being able to make them smile a little,” Yeini said.

He talked about his own injury and said: “I had a muscle injury that required a long period of recovery, I then came back but re-injured myself. These things happen sometimes but it has required mental toughness to deal with the situation, so I’m really excited about getting back into action.

“It’s good to see that the team have managed without me and now there will be tough competition for places but I’m sure that we will all benefit from the rivalry.”

Yeini said that the past two draws would cause the players to pick up the pace and strive for better results.

“Maccabi are a good enough club to be able to deal with two consecutive draws. It’s not easy when we don’t achieve our aims but we are competitive and we know that even a draw will make us hungry for better results.”

Maccabi Fund hosts Shanti House youth

The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Fund continues its work in various community projects, including education and youth, and on Saturday it hosted 20 youth from the Shanti House in Tel Aviv to a watch party. The youth, who were accompanied by Shanti House vice CEO Michael Ben Yosef, visited Tel Aviv University’s sports centre where they enjoyed the facilities and hospitality and joined other fans in supporting Maccabi, who at the time were playing their league fixture in Kiryat Shmona which they won 1-0.

Shanti House’s mission is to “return of runaway and homeless youth to an optimal way of life through the creation of a supportive environment designed and adapted to their needs.”

The Maccabi Fund is happy and proud to have been able to help and support the boys and girls and welcome them warmly into Maccabi Tel Aviv fans’ family.
