Senegalese player on trial with youth club

Ndiaye Ibrahima began a trial with the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth club. The 17-year old player from Senegal will hope to impress coach Ziv Arie and the professional staff to be a part of next year’s squad.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv 1:4 Hapoel “Robi” Haifa

The Under-19 team fell at home to Hapoel Haifa. The young Yellow-and-Blue opened the match well but couldn’t find a goal early on as Eylon Almog was only able to tie up the score at 1:1 after which Maccabi “Shachar” gave up three straight goals to the visitors.

Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv 3:1 Beitar “Oren” Jerusalem

Following the International break, Maccabi “Oded” defeated their Jerusalem counterparts at Kiryat Shalom. The Yellow-and-Blue took the lead on a penalty goal by Thomas Prince as the lead lasted until the 60th minute when Beitar drew even. However, ten minutes later Netanel Peretz gave the lead back to Maccabi for good and Idan Tzioni added an insurance marker in the 73rd minute for the 3:1 victory.

Hapoel Beer Sheva 0:3 Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv

Just a day before the “Match of the Year” between the First Teams the Under-16 sides met each other in Beer Sheva as the Yellow-and-Blue receive goals by Dani Amar, Eyal Hen and Shachar Drucker in the win.

Hapoel Kiryat Ono 0:6 Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv

Maccabi “Eldad” picked up the victory over their Kiryat Ono counterparts on goals by Tashager Dego, Bar Cohen, Ido Shachar, Omri Ram Yuval Ben Ami and Ra’ava Assayag.

Maccabi Barkai 1:0 Maccabi “Team 2” Tel Aviv

Ran Elias and his charges fell to Maccabi Barkai on Friday after giving up a goal in the 29 minute.

Maccabi “Shachar” falls to Hapoel Haifa 1-4

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv kicked off against Hapoel Haifa on Matchday 21 of the Toto Youth League at Ramle Stadium. Coach Ziv Arie looked to get his side back on the winning track especially with the return of winger Eylon Almog who was at the Under-17 Tournament last weekend. The hosts also looked to avenge the defeat that the Reds handed them last round at Kiryat Chaim by a 2:0 score. First Team coach Peter Bosz and assistant Hendrie Kruzen were also on hand to check out the up and coming Yellow-and-Blue youngsters from the stands.

Ziv Arie’s club had a terrific chance early on in the 3rd minute as Eylon Almog sent a deep pass to Amit Shapira but the midfielder couldn’t find the handle on the ball while Almog himself sent a 13th minute header just wide of the goal.332A4568

Maccabi continued pressing to find the first goal of the match and in the 20th minute their efforts almost paid off when Shapira found Gaby Kanichowsky in the box. Kanichowsky deceived the defender but his effort just missed the mark to keep the match goalless. The visitors also had a number of chances and in the 30th minute they would break the deadlock.

Sa’ar Ohayon came out of his goal a bit too far as Haifa captain Maxim Falchenko chipped the ball over the Maccabi keeper to give the away side the 1:0 lead. The young Yellow-and-Blue searched for the equalizer but Almog’s cross to Kanichowsky was smartly intercepted by Haifa keeper Rotem Fadifa as Maccabi went into the break down by one goal.

Or Dasa came on for Lazar Durovic to start the second half for Arie’s club but Maccabi wasn’t able to take advantage of the fresh legs up front as Idan Golan took a deep cross and beat Ohayon from in close to give Haifa a 2:0 advantage in the 57th minute.

Almog cut the lead to 2:1 just four minutes later when the winger headed in the ball to pull the hosts to within striking distance. However, Haifa’s substitute Ido Weir handled a deep ball and beat Ohayon one-on-one in the 74th minute while Rami Khalfo scored in the 88th minute give the visitors a 4:1 win.

Youth Department Action, Saturday March 19

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv – Hapoel “Robi” Haifa 12:00, Ramle Stadium

The Under-19 club will look to pick up a victory on Saturday when they kick off against their Hapoel Haifa counterparts on Matchday 21 of the Toto Youth League. After falling to the Greens from the Carmel last week, the gap between first and second place widened to six points. Ziv Arie will have the players who had gone to the Under-17 Elite Tournament back as they try and cut the margin once again.

Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv – Beitar “Oren” Jerusalem 09:00, Kiryat Shalom

Following a lengthy break, Ori Uzan and Leon Asraf’s charges will get back to action as they face Beitar Jerusalem’s Under-17 side at the Kiryat Shalom Training Facility. With a victory, Maccabi “Oded” will remain at the top of the table with a two point advantage.

Just a day before the club’s first teams play each other, the Under-16 sides take to the pitch after coming back from the International break.

Maccabi “Eldad” will look to add to their nine point lead at the top of the table as the Under-15 side takes on their counterparts from Kiryat Ono.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv 3:0 Maccabi Herzliya

Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv-International Break

SC Ashdod “Moris” 0:4 Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv

The Under-16 side visited Ashdod in a tricky away tie in State Cup play but their 4:0 victory helped them head into the Quarterfinals of the tournament. Eliezer Ben Aharon and Gady Brumer controlled the tempo of the match from the get go as Sa’ar Sa’adon scored in the 6th minute to give Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” a quick 1:0 lead. Eyal Hen, Idan Tzioni and an own goal by Ashdod rounded out the scoring.

Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv 1:2 Hapoel “Aliya” Kfar Saba

After giving up two goals at the beginning of the second half, Maccabi “Eldad” was eliminated from State Cup play. Bar Cohen scored in the 82nd minute to cut the lead to 2:1 but it was too little too late.

Maccabi “Team 2” Tel Aviv 2:4 Hapoel “Rami” Tel Aviv

The second Maccabi Under-15 club also had their State Cup run ended as they lost in extra time 4:2 in a Tel Aviv Derby. Ran Elias and his charges will now concentrate on league play for the balance of their season.

Maccabi “Shachar” moves into State Cup quarters

Head Coach Ziv Arie’s squad played their Israel State Cup Round of 16 match against Maccabi Herzliya at the Ramle Stadium just two hours prior to the start of the First Team’s match at Bloomfield Stadium. The young Yellow-and-Blue advanced to this round after defeating SC Julis on penalty kicks.

Maccabi “Shachar” opened the match with an attacking trio of Omri Haramati, Or Dasa and Mahmoud Awesat with a midfield of Gaby Kanichowsky, Eliel Peretz and Amit Shapira. Haviv Ohayon started in goal with Nadav Amran, Guy Aviv, Ran Vaturi and captain Idan Yogev rounding out the Starting XI.

It didn’t take very long to find the back of the goal as a terrific give and go between Haramati and Shapira ended with the latter placing the ball behind the Herzliya keeper for the 1:0 lead. The hosts continued to press and to find another marker but the score stayed as is into the break.

Arie’s club came out strong to begin the second half and were rewarded soon thereafter. Shapira teamed up with Peretz giving him a gorgeous chip pass to double the lead. Peretz who had just returned from playing with the First Team on Wednesday night against Kfar Saba picked up the goal in the 47th minute.

The Under-19 team continued to control the flow of the game as Haramati added a goal to his assist helping Maccabi “Shachar” finish off the match in style winning 3:0. The victory moves the young Yellow-and-Blue into the quarterfinals and will find out their opponent in an upcoming draw. Next week, the club visits Maccabi Haifa in a top of the table battle with Ziv Arie’s side just three points away from the Greens.

The Under-19 club will host their counterparts from Herzliya at the Ramle Stadium. The young Yellow-and-Blue will look to book their ticket into the Round of 16.

Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv – International Break

An exciting contest between Maccabi and their Ashdod counterparts will take place in the State Cup Round of 32 as the Yellow-and-Blue will visit the port city. The two sides are neck-and-neck in league play and will now have a one match showdown for all of the marbles in the Cup competition.

The Under-15 team will get a chance to play a Derby match in the State Cup quarterfinals. Ran Elias’s side are 9 points ahead of the Wolfson crew in League action and they will look to extend their fine play to the Cup tournament early Saturday morning at Kiryat Shalom.

Not only will the First Teams of Maccabi and Kfar Saba be kicking off against one another, but the Under-15 sides will be as well in State Cup play. The young Yellow-and-Blue will be looking to advance to the semifinal round of the competition against the Sharon club.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv 1:1 Sektzia Nes Tziona

The Under-19 team’s win steak was put to an end by the last place club as the two sides drew 1:1 at Ramle. The young Yellow-and-Blue held the lead for a few minutes as Nes Tziona tied it up soon thereafter. For the full match recap CLICK HERE.

Maccabi “Kalfo” Petach Tikva 2:2 Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv

Ori Uzan and Leon Asraf’s team ended their match in a 2:2 draw. Thomas Prince gave the Under-17’s the lead but a pair of Petach Tikva goals put Maccabi “Oded” into a 1 goal deficit situation. However, just as the half was about to end Netanel Peretz found the equalizer that gave his club one-point.

Maccabi Ironi Bat Yam 2:9 Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv

A big win by the Under-16 side of Eliezer Ben Aharon and Gady Brumer was one of Saturday’s hi-lights. Muflach Shalata, Amit Glazer, Shchar Druker, Sa’ar Sa’adon with four goals and Danny Amar with a brace helped the Yellow-and-Blue fill the Bat Yan goal.

Hapoel Jerusalem 0:6 Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv

Matchday 17 was a successful one for Maccabi “Eldad” as a trip to the capital helped the club pick up a 6:0 victory. Dego Shtager with a brace, Or Itzhak, Ido Shachar, Omri Ram and Avi Ben Raphael all scored for the Under-15 team.

Hapoel Raanana 1:2 Maccabi “Team 2” Tel Aviv

Ran Elias and his squad picked up an important three points away at Raanana. Guy Mizrachi and Eden Silam scored for Maccabi’s second Under-15 club.

Maccabi Shachar Draws 1-1

Head Coach Ziv Arie made a couple of changes to the starting XI that opened up last week’s match as Shay Golan and Or Dasa were given the chance to show their wares. Ben Shugel who was with Maccabi at the beginning of the year faced his former team and started for Nes Tziona.AQ7A2967

From the opening minute, Maccabi controlled the flow of play and tempo of the match moving the ball from side to side. In the 20th minute Ran Vaturi took a screamer of a shot but Almog and Dasa couldn’t find the handle on the rebound to give the young Yellow-and-Blue the lead.

In the 33rd minute, Maccabi finally took the advantage as Oliel Peretz found Dasa in the middle of the box who put the ball home behind the Nes Tziona keeper for the short-lived 1:0 lead. Just two minutes later a Nes Tziona corner kick was headed in by Shugel beating Maccabi “Shachar” keeper Haviv Ohayon to draw the visitors even at 1:1 as the sides went into the break with the score as is.AQ7A3083

The second half started with neither team making a substitution. Nes Tziona packed in their defense while the Yellow-and-Blue tried to breakdown the visitors fortress. Arie made a number of changes to his lineup as he inserted Mahmoud Awesat, Eden Kartzev, Tomer Altman and Lazar Durovic who just returned to the club as the coach looked to find a winner.AQ7A3038

In the 83rd minute, Maccabi may have had their best chance of the half. Durovic turned in the box and gave Awesat a terrific ball but he missed the opportunity to give his side the lead as the match ended in a 1:1 draw. Next Saturday Maccabi “Shachar” will face Maccabi Herzliya in State Cup action.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv – Sektzia Nes Tziona 11:00, Ramle

Ziv Arie’s side is heading into the match with Nes Tziona in fine form and will look to continue their winning streak at home at Ramle Stadium just one Matchday prior to going head-to-head with Maccabi Haifa.
