In freezing cold temperatures, Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv fell to Dynamo Kiev 2:0 on the last Matchday of the Champions League Youth League. Nadav Amram made his Under-19 debut and was in the starting lineup.
The game began with the hosts controlling the first half as both sides tried to play the ball from one side of the pitch to the other with little accuracy. Maccabi “Shachar” fell behind in the 19th minute when Bogdan Mykhaylichenko’s strong effort was diverted to the post by Ran Vaturi and the rebound was put into the goal by Ivan Kaliuzhnyi for a 1:0 Kiev lead. The Ukrainian side continued to control the pace for the majority of the first half with Maccabi’s counter attacks not bearing any fruits on the other side of the pitch as the teams headed into halftime with Dynamo ahead.
Head Coach Ziv Arie opened the second half by making his first substitute of the match introducing Eylon Almog. However, Kiev would score a second goal to double their lead when Viktor Tsygankov broke down the right side and beat Yellow-and-Blue keeper Haviv Ohayon with a hard shot to salt away the 2:0 victory.
