Medunjanin: “We need to play our game tomorrow”
The Yellow & Blue play a crucial match Thursday evening against AZ Alkmaar at 22:05 at the AFAS Stadium. Haris Medunjanin grew up and played in the city as a young footballer and he spoke about returning to his hometown and more to the Official Website:

Arveladze: “Both teams are offensive minded”
Shota Arveladze, the Yellow & Blue Head Coach spoke at the prematch press conference prior to his Club’s Europa League match Thursday evening in Alkmaar. The Georgian boss spoke about tomorrow’s game, Haris Medunjanin’s time in Holland and the feelings he had returning to one of his former club’s:
“It’s good to be back here. As soon as I came in I felt the warmth on my heart. You can see that the Club knows how to honor it’s former players just by looking at the walls. It’s always great and when I stepped on to the pitch many memories came rushing back. I want to than Alkmaar for these wonderful times and as I said, it’s good to be back.”
More on his return:
“The first time I was here it was as a player and we won almost everything. We scored a lot and played terrific football but we ended up losing the Cup final. But God is wonderful and he didn’t forget me as I returned here to win a title as an assistant coach.”
About Haris Medunjanin:
“I remember some of the goals Haris scored here. He was here because he was an excellent player and he had a bright future ahead of him and now he’s here to help me play good football.”
Concerning the match:
“It will be a good game. The culture at both AZ and Maccabi is quite similar. Offensive minded teams that like to play forward and attack just like they enjoy in Holland. Both teams need to win and that will lead to a fantastic match tomorrow.”

Tibi: “This is a very critical match in the campaign”
Eitan Tibi, the Yellow & Blue veteran central defender looked at the importance of Thursday’s Europa League match at 22:05 Israel Time versus Alkmaar. Number 18 spoke about the club’s desire to perform well in continental play, the importance of getting a good result and the goal the team is now facing:
“There’s no question that this wasn’t the way we wanted to open up our European campaign but we know that we can compete and we will do our best to play well in Alkmaar and to take some points.”
Crucial Matchday Three encounter:
“Alkmaar also wants to take points this game because the third match is very critical in the competition. Both teams will look to win and hopefully we will find ourselves on top.”
Preparation:
“I know that Maccabi has played in these types of situations many times and there’s no question that we will come prepared for the game.”
European play:
“Maccabi has taken steps forward each and every season in either the Europa League or Champions League and I hope that this can continue for the years to come.”
Maccabi Tel Aviv is on their way to Holland
After a three week break, Maccabi Tel Aviv will be getting back into the swing of things when they visit Alkmaar in Holland on Matchday Three of the Europa League on Thursday night at 22:05 Israel Time.
The Yellow & Blue flew to Holland today and will have their final training session prior to the match at AFAS Stadium tomorrow evening as they look to pick up their first points of the competition following two defeats. Head Coach Shota Areveladze and Haris Medunjanin will be making their return to the club with which they were both associated with for some time. In fact, Medunjanin began his Senior Team career at Alkmaar and to this day his family still lives in the city.
This will be Maccabi’s fifth encounter with a Dutch club (two wins & two losses) and for Alkmaar this will be their second match against an Israeli side, their first being against Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League Group Stages.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv 2:0 Hapoel “Nisanov” Tel Aviv
A big Derby win for Guy Tzarfati, his first as Head Coach of the Under-19 team in the Youth Ligat Ha’Al. Or Dasa assisted on Amit Shapira’s 15th minute goal while Eylon Almog doubled the score in the 75th minute as he blasted home Maccabi’s second goal of the match for the 2:0 win over Hapoel.

A fantastic victory by Eliezer Ben Aharon’s side gave Maccabi “Oded” 3 points over their counterparts from the Carmel. Amit Mordciov gave the young Yellow & Blue the second half lead while Gil Rahimi added the insurance marker later on in the second half.
Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv 1:2 Maccabi “Goldschenfeld” Haifa
Alon Brumer’s squad fell to Haifa at Kiryat Shalom as the visitors scored two first half goals while Tal Yugudaev’s goal was only able to cut the lead in half.
Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv 4:1 Hapoel Rishon Le’Zion
Or Roizman, Nehori Bitton, Stav Nachmani and Amit Havruni all scored for Ori David’s club as the Yellow & Blue defeated the wine city side at Kiryat Shalom.

Amir Sofer and his side travelled to Kibbitz Barkai where they recorded a big victory on goals by Yehali Lazar (hat-trick), Niv Berkovic and Yishai Bozorgi to go along with an own goal by Maccabi Barkai.

Getting ready for your trip to Holland? Can’t wait to get to the stadium? Jus before you head out to the airport here are some important things you need to know about your trip to Alkmaar. Read them carefully and keep them with you should you need them:
Transportation to the match:
Free round trip shuttle service is available from the following hours:
From: Alkmaar Train Station -> Destination: Stadium -> Beginning at: 19:15 Until: 20:00
From: Alkmaar City Center (Kanaalkade next to the Parking garage Karperton and a 100 mtr. away from the Waagplein square) -> Destination: Stadium -> Beginning at: 19:15 Until: 20:00
Return shuttle service will begin following the match and the hours will be published soon
Rules & Regulations of AFAS STADIUM ALKMAAR:

Entrance to the Stadium will be permitted with a ticket and Teudat Zehut
Entrance to the Stadium will not be permitted under the following circumstances:
- It’s forbidden to enter the stadium under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Fans who are recognized as potential disturbances over the course of the match
- Those who are asked to leave the Stadium during the course of a security check
The following items are not permitted to be brought into the stadium:
- Weapons or any other item that may be used as a weapon
- Alcohol, drugs or other illegal substances
- Bottles or any other type of type of container (plastic, glass, aluminum etc…)
- Any type of pyrotechnics
- Banners, Flags or similar etc…
- Megaphones, bullhorns, drums, whistles etc…
Certain items may be approved by the local police
Approved banners must be fire resistant
All fans must heed the police and security directives.
It is forbidden:
- To be in any area that is off limits
- Climb on the building structure
- Block or create a barrier at any entrance, exit, passageway or staircase
- Throw any object on the pitch
- Display any offensive or racist statement
The event organizer and police may take any of the following decisions:
- Delay or stoppage of the match
- To hold the fans in the stadium for a period of time following the match
- Evacuate part or all of the stadium
There are security cameras all around the stadium and the event organizer can use any or all of these videos and transfer to any third party for any purpose
Any fan who is ejected from the stadium will not receive a refund of the ticket price
