Golasa with an assist, Ben Chaim scores: Macedonia 1:2 Israel

The Israel National Team picked up their first victory in 2018 World Cup Qualifying with a 2:1 win away at Macedonia on Matchday Two. Eitan Tibi, Eyal Golasa, Eli Dasa and Tal Ben Chaim all featured in the Starting XI while Omri Ben Harush waited on the bench.

The Yellow & Blue representatives had a hand in both National Team goals. In the 25th minute Eyal Golasa recorded a gorgeous assist when he lofted the ball over the Macedonian defenders leaving striker Tomer Hemed all alone in front of the host’s goal to score the first Blue & White strike. With two minutes remaining in the half, Ben Chaim pulled the Macedonia keeper out of his goal and as he went to his right, the winger went the other way to score the second goal of the match for his second goal of the campaign.

The home side cut the Israel lead to 2:1 and in the last minute Eitan Tibi was shown a red card for a foul without the ball that led to a penalty. However, the spot kick was heroically saved by Dudu Goresh to preserve the victory and give Israel 3 valuable points as they now prepare to face Liechtenstein on Sunday at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.

Peretz scores: 4:0 win for the Under-21 Israel team over Greece

Marko Balbul’s squad picked up a solid victory at the Toto Turner Stadium in Beer Sheva against Greece on the second to last Matchday. Dor Peretz who wore the captain’s armband, scored his first goal with the National Team in the 55th minute. The young Blue & White will host Albania on Monday evening for a ticket to the playoff round of the Euro 2017 Tournament. However, the Under-21 side will need a win and a better goal differential to have a chance to be one of the top four second place finishers in order to qualify.

Dor Peretz spoke about the match: “We played really well and the game went our way. We played hard and gave it our all and you can see exactly that in the result. On a personal level it feels great to score.”

On the chance of advancing from second place to the playoff round:

“First of all we have to do what we need to and if a win will help us achieve that result then we will be pretty happy. Of course, we will be hoping for the best in regards to the other results. ”

Vidar Kjartansson takes part in a thrilling victory: Iceland 3:2 Finland

The striker was introduced in the 75th minute as his team was in the hole 2:1 against Finland, but two late goals in the 90th and 94th minutes helped give Iceland a dramatic win.”

Predrag Rajikovic watched from the bench as his Serbia team defeated Moldova 3:0 while Friday will see Haris Medunjanin and Bosnia meet Belgium and Egor Filipenka will visit Holland for a date with the Oranje. Nosa Igiebor will play for Nigeria on Sunday when they face Zambia.

Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv – Bnei Sakhnin, 16:00, Ramle

Guy Tzarfati’s side will look to get back onto the winning track when they host their counterparts from Sakhnin at the Ramle Stadium at 16:00. After four rounds of games the Yellow & Blue have six out of a possible 12 points.

Hapoel “Tzachi Ben Porat” Tel Aviv – Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv, 09:00, Wolfson

An Under-17 Derby is on tap for Saturday morning. Eliezer Ben Aharon’s squad will head to Wolfson to face their city rival as both teams have the exact same amount of points.

Maccabi “Moshe Dayan” Petach Tikva – Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv, 10:30, Petach Tikva Training Facility

Alon Brumer and his charges will head over to Petach Tikva for an away clash as they currently sit in second place and will look to move closer to the top of the table.

Hapoel “Shlomi Wartsel” Petach Tikva – Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv, 08:30, Moshava Synthetic Pitch

The Under-15 side of Ori David will kick off Matchday Three away against Hapoel Petach Tikva after a perfect start to the season.

Maccabi “Ilan” Tel Aviv – Bnei Sakhnin, 12:00, Kiryat Shalom

Prior to the match, a special ceremony will take place honoring the memory of Ilan Sviatkovsky z”l a fan of the club who was killed in battle by the Gaza Strip. The Under-15 team is named for Ilan and a moving presentation is slated to take place at Maccabi’s training facility.

Israel – Liechtenstein (09/10/16, Teddy)

After falling to Italy, the Blue & White will look to win their first match on Thursday when they visit Philip II National Stadium in Skopje. Five Maccabi players were called up to the squad by Head Coach Elisha Levy including, winger Tal Ben Chaim, Eitan, Tibi, Eyal Golasa, Eli Dasa and Omri Ben Harush who returns to the National Team. Following the away match in Macedonia, Israel will face Liechtenstein at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem on Sunday 09/10.

Israel Under-21 Team

Israel – Greece (06/10/16, Toto Turner)

Israel – Albania (10/10/16, Moshava)

Marko Balbul’s side will make their final push towards ensuring their participation in the Euro 2017 Under-21 Tournament by solidifying their position as one of the top four second place teams among the nine groups. Dor Peretz and Eliel Peretz will represent Maccabi in the upcoming two games while loaned players Yonatan Cohen, Sean Goldberg and Shachar Fiben will also be part of the Blue & White squad.

Serbia – Predrag Rajikovic

The young keeper will join his National Team for an away match in Moldova for their second game in Group D in World Cup Qualifying after drawing their first match 2:2 against the Republic of Ireland. Three days after their trip to Moldova, Serbia will host Austria in one of the most important clashes in the group for a ticket to the World Cup.

Belarus – Egor Filipenka

The Maccabi Tel Aviv central defender will visit “De Kuip”, home of Feyenoord in Holland as Belarus played the Netherlands on Matchday Two. A few days later Filipenka and his National Team will host Luxembourg.

Bosnia – Haris Medunjanin

Following a Matchday One victory, the Maccabi midfielder will have a tough test as his side will take a trip to take in Belgium. Three days later Bosnia will host Cyprus in Zenica.

Nigeria – Nosa Igiebor

The Super Eagles new recruit will kick off against Zambia in the first round of World Cup Qualifying in Group B.

Iceland – Vidar Kjartansson

The Maccabi Tel Aviv striker will play two home matches as Iceland faces Finland on Matchday Two and Turkey on Matchday Three after drawing 1:1 against Ukraine on Matchday One.

After almost a month break, the Israeli league returns to action with a massive matchup. The Yellow & Blue will host the Classico when the Club from the Carmel heads down to the Netanya Stadium. October 27, First Leg Quarterfinal Toto Cup, 21:00: Maccabi Tel Aviv – Kiryat Shemona (LIVE from the Stadium)

Maccabi Tel Aviv will welcome the northern club for the first leg of Toto Cup quarterfinal action as the first title of the season will be on the line. The Yellow & Blue gave up the Cup last season, will they bring it back home this campaign? The crucial stages of the competition begins now.
