The Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Department has made an addition to their staff as Dutch born Robin Verheul has joined the club and will assist Performance Director Patrick van Leeuwen along with coordinating the activities and programs of the Academy Football School in the north of the city.
Verheul, who will turn 36-years old this May, comes with a wealth of football experience from Holland after working at ADO Den Haag Football Club between 2002-2016 where he trained players between the ages of 9-19 in the youth department. In addition, the Dutchman has also guided players on a one-on-one basis. This is yet another move to upgrade the Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Department as it continues to develop and improve the tools which are being given to the players who are coming through the Yellow & Blue system.

As the match hit the 16th minute the young Yellow & Blue would already go ahead 2:0 thanks to Almog’s assist on Netanel Peretz’s strike. As Maccabi continued to control the game, the Reds shocked the hosts and cut the lead to 2:1 in the 21st minute as the score remained as is for the rest of the half.
In the 71st minute, Kartsev’s free kick from 24 meters almost went into the Haifa goal but again the keeper was up to the task. Tomer Altman sent a marvelous ball to Zamir but the keeper again was able to make the stop. Maccabi “Shachar” continued to pour on the offense but couldn’t find the back of the goal again as the Under-19’s recorded the win and collected the 3 points.
