Europa League qualifiers and the Israeli football season is underway as Eliran Atar starred in the first month of the season picking up the July HISENSE Player of the Month Award.

Maccabi FIRST members can choose the player that they thought were the best of the best beginning today Monday July 30th until Tuesday July 31st at 12:00. At 17:00 on Tuesday all those who chose the winning player will receive an SMS with a trivia question. The first to answer correctly will win a 32” TV from HISENSE.

Omer Atzily may have just returned from injury but the Maccabi FIRST members saw fit to vote the midfielder as the HISENSE Player of the Month.

There were four matches that were played over three weeks and more than 50% of Maccabi FIRST members chose Eliran Atar as their player of the month.

After picking up the award in October, Atar again took home the top prize especially after his fine goal against Hapoel Haifa. Avi Rikan received 30% of the popular vote while Or Dasa who scored his first goal for the club recorded 10%.

Now this is how you start the season. After 6 matches you chose Vidar Kjartansson as the HISENSE Player of the Month for July by just one single vote. The Icelandic striker scored a pair of goals for the Yellow & Blue and the hope is that he’s off to another stellar start and will be one to watch all season long.

Omer Atzily came in second place in a photo finish while Ofir Davidzada who just arrived this summer ended the month in third place.

As the Ligat Ha’Al heads into the home stretch and soon you’ll be asked to choose the Player of the Season, we still have to find out who will be the April Player of the Month which won’t be an easy task. Kjartansson is back to his scoring ways, Dor Micha has been fabulous while central defender Tal Ben Haim and keeper Preadrag Rajikovic all deserve a look.

The month was a bit shorter than usual due to the International break, but that didn’t stop Barak Itzhaki from picking up the HISENSE March Player of the Month award. The striker scored twice in four matches and raised his season total to 7 goals.

However, Itzhaki had a big battle on his hands from Dor Micha as they finished 1-2 with Number 10 collecting 35% of the popular vote to Micha’s 32%. The Portuguese midfielder Ruben Micael took third place with 28%.
