Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach summed up the match: "Bnei Yehuda are always a tough opponent, and not just this season, also in past seasons it was the same way. We had a number of difficulties from the very start of the match – not only did Bnei Yehuda play in their own half of the pitch and make it hard for us to find space, we also lost (striker) Tal Ben Haim to injury ten minutes into the match and we had to substitute (midfielder Eran) Zahavi, who went on ill and made every effort to be involved in the match. Because of all those changes we also had to change our game plan in order to get the desired result, which is always to win. If you take all those things into account, the fact that we won without conceding and improved on our result against the same club in the first round of fixtures, well, I'd say that's a very good result for us and I'm very proud of my players ".

Maccabi's Swedish striker Rade Prica, who continued his tradition of scoring against Bnei Yehuda, had this to say at the end of the match: "I've got into this habit of scoring against Bnei Yehuda and today I got off a good shot and it was great to see it go into the net. They pressed us and made our game more problematical, we should have pressed them further up the pitch. In the first half they played in their own half of the pitch and seemed content just not to have conceded. In the second half they took more chances because they're a good side".

Defender Omri Ben Harush added: "This was a very difficult match and we knew it would be, they're a very good side but we managed to get the upper hand and get all three points. All of us are prepared to play on the pitch in whatever role the coach requires, that's part of the changes we've undergone as a squad, and it's always my job to give it everything I have".
