This past Sunday, April 17th a group of children from Tayibe were hosted at Kiryat Shalom as they participated in a joint practice session with the Under-15 squad and their coach Kfir Alfonte. The children played a friendly match and afterwards mingled together and got to know each other on and off of the field of play.

A big surprise awaited the children as Haviv Ohayon, the First Team and Under-19 keeper joined the action and also assisted on a couple of goals. The Under-15 players’ parents organized a snack afterwards along with the Tayibe parents and the Maccabi Youth Department participants gave out mugs that had the following printed on them: “Maccabi Tel Aviv & Tayibe Youth for Coexistence” with the goal achieved after a fun day at Kiryat Shalom.

Maccabi & Hapoel Under-17 squads come together for Passover

Maccabi’s Under-17 side came with goalkeeping coach and educational consultant Chen Abdu who together with Eran Sassi and Maccabi “Oded” coach Ori Uzan helped the squad with this project. Uzan said: “Any type of contribution to the community is a good thing. Together the Yellow-and-Blue as well as the Red children are he for one purpose only, to do these good deeds together. The rivalry has to be on the pitch only for both the players and fans alike.”

Eran Sassi, Hapoel’s coach commented: “To do something for the poor is of the highest value as it connects sportsmanship to the society at large in doing good deeds for the community both as a football club and as an individual. I’m sure that these types of events brings together the positive spirit of sportsmanship and understanding within a rivalry and that keeps the violence and other negative aspects away.”

Youth Department helps organize food packages with Achim LaSemal

To be part of the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth department requires one to put on many hours of training time, sacrifice and a tremendous amount of physical work. However, another area that the youth department looks at being critical is volunteering and giving back to the community.

This past Friday, the Under-15 players joined goalkeeping coach and educational consultant Chen Abdu for a special day preparing food packages for Holocaust survivors and the elderly with Achim LaSemel. The youth players worked hard in order to help as many people as possible on this special day of volunteering and giving back to the community.

Achim LaSemel paints Passover Yellow-and-Blue

Come in and get all of the details:

Passover is approaching and this year once again the non-profit organization “Achim LaSemel” is working to make the Passover holiday happy for everyone. Over the last three years, the flagship project of the organization was to conduct a seder dinner for those in need. This year, it was decided that instead of conducting a seder dinner, Achim LaSemel would try to reach more people in need and provide families with everything that they will need for their holiday table. Therefore, the organization started getting the masses involved in raising funds that will enable them to make food packages to be distributed before Pesach.

Maccabi Tel Aviv FC fans and others who would like to help support this project can make a donation and receive a gift from Maccabi Tel Aviv and others. Gifts include Maccabi Tel Aviv autographed shirts, pillows, scarves and hats, tickets to shows, soccer balls and basketballs that are autographed by the team and much more. This project has already raised more than 50,000 shekels!

This Friday, 15.4.16 from 8:00am, Achim LaSemel will meet outside of Hechal HaSport in Hadar Yosef , 6 Shitrit street, Tel Aviv and pack the food that will be bought from the donations that were contributed. They will then deliver the packages to those who need them. These packages are a key for a happy Passover for those in need. Joining the event will be players and coaches from soccer, basketball, volleyball and handball teams as well as players from the various youth teams, Maccabi fans and anyone else who would like to participate.
