STEVE McCLAREN LEAVES MACCABI TEL AVIV

McClaren who joined the club earlier this summer and spent the past five months as part of Jordi Cruyff’s coaching staff told the club’s official website: “It’s with much regret I have to return to England and leave my role at Maccabi Tel Aviv. I would like to thank so many people for making my time at Maccabi such a wonderful experience. The loyal, hard-working staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes. A great set of talented players who I loved working with and passionate fans who showed their support both at home in Netanya and across the country. It’s been a pleasure to see Jordi and the team mature over the last few months, culminating with a Toto Cup final victory over Be’ersheva and the first trophy in 3 years. I wish Jordi, the staff, players and fans every success for the rest of the season and will surely come back to visit when Maccabi Tel Aviv win the Championship”.

Maccabi CEO, Ben Mansford, said: “We were delighted when Steve joined us in the summer to work with our coaching staff. Jordi and Steve alongside the rest of the staff have worked very well as a team. We are naturally disappointed Steve decided to pursue other options but this was something we knew could happen right from the start”.

Maccabi’s coach Jordi Cruyff added: “We are extremely grateful to Steve for the professional help he has given us over the past five months. He advised me a lot personally and we benefited from his input and the wealth of his experience. We knew right from the start that this was a temporary role, but in that short time managed to learn from a professional of the highest calibre. It wasn’t about me alone as everyone at Kiryat Shalom benefited from Steve’s presence, advice and positive work energy. I am certain that in Steve McClaren, Maccabi Tel Aviv has earned both a fan and an ambassador”.

From Offline To Online

After 3.5 successful years, the club’s Official Store on Dizengoff Street will close as the shop’s lease will end. Beginning on January 2nd, the Kiryat Shalom Outlet will turn into the club’s Flagship Store with all of the latest Yellow & Blue merchandise as the team will continue to look for a central location that will be more accessible and that can better serve the fans. The club will continue to develop its growing E-commerce platforms which is a significant part of the team’s commercial department.

Merchandise Manager Tal Mualem commented: “The Dizengoff Store was the Club’s first shop which was opened 3.5 years ago, becoming our initial entry into the commercial world. Due to the end of the lease, the issues with parking and changes in the area around the store, we’ve decided to close the store at the end of the month. Israel is first amongst E-commerce shopping and in recent years sales via the Club’s Online Shop has significantly increased. In light of that, we will continue to invest more resources into this area.”

The Club will continue to serve the fans at the Official Store at Cinema City Rishon Le’Zion as well as the Kiryat Shalom Store along with Merchandise Stands around the stadium at both home and away matches.

Packages that were purchased via the Online Shop will be available at the Dizengoff Store for pickup until this Friday December 28th after which the packages will be available for pickup at the Kiryat Shalom store.
