Astana Home Ticket Sales
Maccabi Tel Aviv will continue their European Journey as they face Astana on Matchday 4 of the Europa League Group Stages on Thursday November 2nd at 20:00. The match will take place at the Netanya Stadium and tickets are now on sale, so come and cheer on the Yellow & Blue In this critical continental contest.
Maccabi fans will be seated in the following sections: Upper East (601-609), Lower East (501-509), West (101-109, 203-209), E+, Silver Section (Section 105).

Rikan: “We waited for a match like this”
Has Avi Rikan turned into a scorer? After his gorgeous chip shot goal in the Toto Cup, the midfielder scored a brace on the way to a 5:2 win over Hapoel Acre:
“We had two difficult matches with poor results and we waited for a match like this where everything fell into place. We were very good today and we had many chances but we also know that this will only continue with hard work.”
About the match itself:
“Today we showed different things as a team. We held onto the ball and we were able to create chances in the box. We will take the good things from the match and continue on from there. It was disappointing to give up the pair of goals, but we will continue to work hard, we don’t have an easy week ahead.”
Looking towards Astana:
“We definitely gained confidence after scoring 5 goals. This is a match that we have to win and we will do the maximum to make sure we are prepared. We want to end the week the way we should. We will come into the match on Thursday and give everything that we’ve got. I hope that we will win and can still be in contention to advance in the Europa League.”
Cruyff: “All in all I’m satisfied with the effort”
Jordi Cruyff, the Maccabi Tel Aviv Head Coach summed up his squad’s 5:2 win over Hapoel Acre which featured a Hattrick by Eliran Atar and a brace by Avi Rikan:
“I’m happy with the five and to push the team I’ll take the two. As long as we are fresh and press forward we were fine, but when we lost control and possession they created chances too easily. When we were tired we lost the ball and they had chances. All in all I’m satisfied with the effort, we played faster and we pressed when we lost the ball.”
About Or Dasa:
“He played a good game last week and gave us things that we were missing, he was fresh and played like this was a chance of a lifetime and he was good today. His runs forward are good and doesn’t lose the ball. I was very happy with his performance.”
Winning back the fan’s confidence:
“We have to do a lot more than just a few games. We need to improve over a period of time and I feel that we are on the right track. We have done two matches so far in good style and we have a must win Thursday, then a league game and then a must needed break. The team will rest and we will get back some players.”
Overplaying some of the players:
“We have played many games almost 35 plus some with the National Team. Due to the injuries we had to play some more than we would have wanted.”
Chances against Astana:
“If we score our chances probably yes. But if we are soft they will punish us. We want to show Astana that we can play good football.”
Vidar’s recent lack of scoring:
“The players who gave him the most assists have been hurt and he was a massive part to get us to the group stage and he has scored a bunch of goals. When he doesn’t score, he works hard for the team.”
Fiver: Maccabi drops Acre 5:2
An Eliran Atar hat-trick and Avi Rikan brace helped the Yellow & Blue to a 5:2 win over Hapoel Acre as Gabi Kanikovsky and Fejsal Mulic scored for the visitors. Or Dasa made an impressive Israel Premier League debut for Maccabi as they will now begin to prepare for Thursday night’s Europa League Matchday 4 against Astana from Kazakhstan.

Jordi Cruyff’s Starting XI included newcomer Or Dasa who made his Premier League debut along with Sheran Yeini and Cristian Battocchio in the midfield with Omer Atzily, Eliran Atar and Vidar Kjartansson on attack.
Available on the bench were keeper Daniel Tenenbaum, Nick Blackman, Eitan Tibi, Egor Filipenka, Barak Itzhaki, Dor Micha and Dor Peretz.
First Half
Maccabi looked to score early on and almost did so when Atzily’s free kick found Vidar’s head in the box, but his effort was saved by Acre keeper Ram Strauss in the 3’ while Atzily and Davidzada’s give and go left the former with a chance but he was caught up by the visiting defense.
Atzily again was busy on the attack when his 10’ opportunity was taken care of by Strauss and then a minute later sent a ball in the box which Vidar and Dasa had chances on but couldn’t convert. Rikan then streaked into the box but his point blank range effort was stopped by Strauss and sent out for a corner kick in the 14’. Atar’s free kick four minutes later was smartly saved by Strauss as the shot stopper punched the dipping ball over the bar as Maccabi continued to press for a goal. In the 21’ Dasa took a wonderful pass by Battocchio in the box but just put the ball wide right of the post.
However, the pressure would finally pay off as Atar took a marvelous pass by Vidar in the box and put the ball by a helpless Strauss in the 28’ while 2 minutes later Rikan took care of a loose ball in the area after an Atzily attempt and put it behind the Acre keeper for a 2:0 advantage. Rikan almost scored again seconds later but his scorcher glanced off the bar and went out. Atzily also looked to add to the Maccabi lead in the 36’ but his low shot from the right side was sent out by the keeper for a corner as the Yellow & Blue continued their relentless attack and went into the break with a two goal lead.
Second Half
The second half began just like the first half ended with Maccabi applying pressure as Atzily sent Vidar a ball in the box that #9 tried to put by Strauss, but the keeper made a heroic save. As Acre went downfield and into Maccabi’s zone, the referee ruled that Ben Haim pulled Peter Onyekachi down in the box good for a yellow card and penalty. Siraj Nasar stepped up to take the 55’ spot kick but Rajikovic was up to the task as he dove to his right to make the timely save.
Atzily’s 65’ corner found Vidar’s head in the box but Strauss again made the save. But four minutes later, Strauss wouldn’t be able to stop Rikan’s second goal of the night as he slotted the ball home just inside the right post for a 3:0 Maccabi lead. #22 was then substituted off to a standing ovation by the Yellow & Blue faithful as Dor Micha made his return from injury and entered the game in the 70’.
If you thought that Maccabi was done, then you were wrong as Or Dasa put a scorcher on goal in the 76’ that Strauss stopped but Atar out home the rebound for his second of the contest and a 4:0 advantage. However, Gabi Kanikovsky cut the lead to 4:1 as he sent the ball by Rajikovic in the 80’. Vidar and Atar each had chances in the 81’ and 83’ but came up empty while two minutes later Acre scored via Fejsal Mulic who took the ball and put it into the goal off of a Yeini back pass to Rajikovic to cut the Maccabi lead to 4:2. But Atar would have the final word as he completed a hattrick with a beauty of a free kick for a 5:2 Maccabi win.

Tzarfati: “There’s no one happier than me to win a Derby”
The Derby victory against Hapoel Tel Aviv wasn’t just any Youth Premier League win for the coach and the players. Head Coach Guy Tzarfati and Captain Tomer Altman spoke about their feelings on taking home the important win.
“There’s no one happier than me to win a Derby. I thought about it when I was on my way to the match, that I’ve experienced the Derby as a fan, player, a player who won the State Cup Final Derby and as the coach of the Under-19 team. There were a lot of emotions and special energy and I’m happy that we were able to win the match. We can still play better than we did today and we should have killed the game and led 2:0. In the second half we stayed back a bit but we should have still been able to quietly finish off the match much earlier.”
Message to the players following the win:
“I brought the players together in a circle after the match right on the pitch so the fans and parents could see how much I appreciated their hard work and what they did on the pitch. You have to take into account that these are players who are just at the beginning of their careers and there is always pressure in a Derby, by the media and it’s not that simple. I only have compliments and winning 3:1 is really great.”
About Or Dasa playing with the first team:
“Or is a player who is part of the whole youth department. I was the coach who integrated him into the Under-19 side but it’s all of his coaches from when he was younger that deserve credit for doing a great job with him. This is something that the whole department and management can be proud of.”
Captain Tomer Altman also discussed the important win:
“It’s a wonderful feeling especially as to how the match began. Our start to the season wasn’t the best, so it was important to take home the Derby win.”
Looking ahead:
“I think that the good Derby result and the way we played will give us a big push going forward. We just want to continue to improve.”
About the Hapoel fans:
“We weren’t going to let them influence the game. It’s part of the match, the fans and crowd and soon enough the players will be on the first teams where it is also part of the match.”

The Club’s Under-19 team won the Derby on Matchday 6 as Tomer Altman (p), Fadi Najar and Netanel Peretz all scored. Guy Tzarfati’s squad won their second straight and sit in 5th place just five points off the top of the table. For the highlights and match report click here.
Maccabi “Oded” Tel Aviv 2:1 SC Ironi Ashdod
After a month long break, the Under-17 side got back to action with 3 points and a win on Matchday 6. Maccabi “Oded” is the league’s only team that hasn’t dropped a point as they currently find themselves in 1st place.
Head Coach Eliezer Ben Aharon summed up the match: “We came back after a month and it felt like the first match of the season. Our players controlled the pace for the majority of the match against Ashdod but we were missing certain parts of our game on an individual and team level. We have to know how to kill the game earlier on once we are in the lead and when we are in control. The goals we scored were the direct result of practicing them during our training sessions and sometimes it looks exactly like how we did it in training, it’s a great feeling that this is part of the game and the win. We’re now onto the next match and we went to continue to improve as always!”
Hapoel “Rami” Tel Aviv 1:1 Maccabi “Eldad” Tel Aviv
The Under-15 South squad came home from Wolfson with a Derby draw on Matchday 5. The young Yellow & Blue are still undefeated and are in 2nd place with the same number of points as the first place side. Oscar Gloch was the goal scorer. Head Coach Ori David discussed the match that was: “We clearly controlled the play for most of the match and we had numerous chances in front of the opponent’s goal, but unfortunately we were unable to take the win. I’m happy with the performance and how they have been advancing and improving.”
Maccabi “Ilan” Tel Aviv 1:1 Maccabi Petah Tikva “Yehuda Partush”
On Matchday 5 of the league, the Under-15 North team recorded a draw at home. The young Yellow & Blue are undefeated as they are in 4th place, 2 points off the top of the table. Sivan Gafni was the goal scorer as Head Coach Asaf Heber summed up the contest: “These were two very good clubs and it was an even game. We scored in the 50th minute but we weren’t able to take advantage of our other chances to kill the game. It’s disappointing to give up a goal in the final minutes but the guys are continuing to improve in training and I’m optimistic.”

The Under-16 team plays in Maale Adumim on Matchday 7 as they enter the contest in 6th place with 3 wins and 3 draws. The last place side is winless so far this season.

Maccabi Tel Aviv will play Hapoel Raanana on Matchday 10 of the Israel Premier League Ligat Ha’Al on Sunday November 5th, 20:45. Tickets are now on sale and Maccabi fans will be seated in the Lower East Section of the Stadium (504-506 unreserved)
Please Note: This match is part of the Points Allocation System and season ticket holders will receive 2 points for this contest while non-season ticket holders will receive 1 point. Make sure that when tickets are purchased via the Leaan Website, telephone or Leaan Ticket Office the season ticket number is used in order to receive full points. Should the purchase not be done by using the season ticket number points will not be allocated.
Should a ticket be purchased and the fan doesn’t attend the match, there will be no refunds and no points will be allocated.
