Maccabi Tel Aviv 2015/16 Gala Evening

The Club’s annual event will take place this evening (Tuesday) at the Lago Event Complex in Rishon Le’Zion where Chief Executive Officer Martin Bain will launch the “Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club Foundation”

Just like last year, Maccabi Tel Aviv will hold its annual Gala prior to the end of the
season at the Lago Event Complex in Rishon Le’Zion. The whole team will be in attendance along with Chief Executive Officer Martin Bain, Sports Director Jordi Cruyff, the professional staff as well as over 500 guests.

The evening is sponsored by HP, Profit, Diesenhaus, Florentin 332A1553House, Yam Yagudaev and Eurodrive who contributed a car that will be auctioned off during the evening.

All of the proceeds including the tickets to the event, the auction and raffle will be contributed to the “Maccabi Foundation” and to UNICEF Israel in order to help the community itself.

The moderator of Survivor and actor, Guy Zo-Aretz will host the evening that will open with a video screened on the walls of the hall after which, Chief Executive Officer, Martin Bain will officially launch the “Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club Foundation”, the charitable organization that will give back to the community.

Bain said: “On the subject of  launching new initiatives you may have noticed on all of our literature this evening a new Club logo. Tonight sees us launch the  Maccabi Tel Aviv Foundation – something we believe will make an impact on Israeli society, using 332A1238the positive  energy of everyone connected with the Club to effect the lives of those in need in our community and beyond. Our commitment is to improve the lives of children in Israel through educational activities and sport and for every supporter or employee of Maccabi to play their part”.

During the course of the Gala various awards will be announced including: Player of the Season, Goal of the Season, Youth Player Goal of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, Next Generation and Honorary Award. The winners were voted on by the Club’s former Chairman Gideon Brickman, Club Manager Benny Tabak and former players Boni Ginzburg and Eli Drikes.

There will also be a public auction of unique and exclusive items that were contributed especially for this event: Cooking workshop with Chef Meir Adoni and one of the players; a pair of tickets to the Champions League Final that were donated by Chief Executive Officer Martin Bain; Accompanying the team for the Derby during the 2016/17 332A1166season; Be a part of the Team Photo; Fly with the club to one of their European matches; An unforgettable vacation in Thailand that was contributed by MSN and a 2016 KIA Picanto donated by Eurodrive.

Later on in the evening a raffle will take place where one could win: a pair of season tickets for the upcoming season; dinner at Moses valued at 400₪; autographed jersey and ball by the players; 32′ TV, a pair of VIP tickets to a show and a luxury Maccabi Tel Aviv watch.

Maccabi Haifa League Match: Entry for Physically Challenged Fans

Maccabi Tel Aviv continues its long standing policy of not charging for physically challenged fans and their chaperones and will provide these tickets free of charge.

For matches between Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem, Hapoel Beer Sheva, European matches and matches that will decide the championship you must register in advance by sending an email to support@leaan.co.il with a scanned copy of your disability certificate. Priority will be given to the physically challenged fans who have been attending Maccabi Tel Aviv matches in the past, however when registration opens a week before the match, you still must submit a request.

Please note:
– If you arrive on Matchday without registering beforehand you will not be admitted to the Stadium
– Entry is for physically challenged fans who use wheelchairs on a regular basis
– Physically Challenged Maccabi Haifa fans are requested to contact and register with Maccabi Haifa

On Saturday we’re “Painting Bloomfield Yellow”

This coming Saturday evening, Maccabi will play their final match of the 2015/16 season when they host Maccabi Haifa on Matchday 36 of the WINNER League Championship Playoffs. Not only will the Champion be crowned but we will be recognizing this special event as we leave Bloomfield for a number of years. Maccabi hosted matches at Bloomfield for 15 years prior to the last renovation that took place in the year 2000 and it has truly become a place that has totally turned into Yellow.

Itzhaki: “We’re focussing on the last match of the season”

Barak Itzhaki, the Yellow & Blue number 10 is preparing for the club’s crucial Matchday 36 WINNER League Championship Playoff contest this Saturday evening at 21:00. The striker didn’t want to look ahead to the State Cup Final match against the same Haifa side and talked about what they need to do and what they hope will happen when Beer Sheva hosts Bnei Sakhnin:

“Unfortunately, our destiny isn’t in our own hands but we will go into the next match to win and to make sure we do what we have to. A draw won’t be enough for Beer Sheva when they play Sakhnin.”

On the club scoring a pair of goals last match:

“We knew that at some point the balls would begin going into the goal. It’s the end of the season and we have to focus on the last match, make sure we do what we need to prepare properly and then wait until next week.”

About the Beer Sheva/Bnei Sakhnin game:

“I don’t believe that there is any club in the country that wouldn’t want to play the best that they can and I believe that Bnei Sakhnin will go into the match ready to go. They will want to show good sportsmanship and play to win.”

The State Cup:

“The State Cup doesn’t interest me right now. We have a big game on Saturday against Maccabi Haifa and we will see what the result will be in Beer Sheva and only after that will we start preparing for the State Cup.”

General Public State Cup Ticket Sales

Maccabi Tel Aviv will face Maccabi Haifa in the State Cup Final on Tuesday May 24th at 20:50 in Jerusalem at Teddy Stadium. Ticket sales for season ticket holders have concluded and the general public will be able to purchase seats beginning on Monday May 16th at 19:00 via the Leaan Ticket Office, website and telephone *8780.

IMPORTANT:

– Tickets available are Category 2 seats in the South Stand in sections 1,2,3,22,23 and are unreserved
– You may purchase up to 2 seats
– Ticket sales are for Maccabi Tel Aviv fans ONLY. Haifa fans who purchase tickets in these sections will be ejected from the stadium and their tickets will not be refunded

Under-16 Israel National Team in Bannikov Tournament Final

Alon Hazan’s Under-16 side traveled to the Bannikov Tournament in the Ukraine earlier this past week to take part in the competition named for former USSR keeper Victor Bannikov. Maccabi sent four representatives to compete with the Israel National Team in the tourney that began back in 2002 including Eden Kartzev, Sa’ar Berami, Tomer Mahlof, and Tomer Strosberg.

The club got off to a good start defeating Serbia 2:0 on the help of a Kartzev goal while the Blue & White lost their second match against the hosts where Kartzev also scored for Israel.

Bulgaria was Israel’s third opponent as Sa’ar Berami led the Blue & White by scoring one of the goals in a 3:0 win that helped the Under-16 side advance to the final where they will play Georgia on Sunday.

Ziv: “It’s our job to make sure we are ready”

Yoav Ziv, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s veteran defender had the opportunity to start on Matchday 35 of the WINNER League’s Championship Playoffs against Beitar Jerusalem away at Teddy Stadium. Although he doesn’t get a lot of playing time he has to make sure he is ready when called upon:

“It’s my job to be here when the club needs me and I’ll do the best as I can for the team.”

Next week’s match:

“The Maccabi fans are always there for us no matter what and have our back every single match. Right now we don’t control our own destiny but we will come into next week’s match prepared and we will do what we have to do in order to win. We have to make sure we play well and get ready for the State Cup Final as well.”

Playing infrequently:

“We all have to stay in shape, each and every one of us from the first to the last on the team. It’s our job to make sure we are ready.”

Looking ahead to the Beer Sheva result next week:

“We will do everything in our power to win the upcoming league match against Maccabi Haifa and only after will we look to see what the result of the other game is. It doesn’t interest me in the least as to what is going on while we are playing.”

About the Beitar match itself:

“We have been learning how the coach wants us to play and we looked better in the second half. We could have scored a couple of more goals.”

Maccabi “Oded” wins the title

The Yellow & Blue Youth Department continues to bear fruit due to their hard work all year long as the Under-17 side won their league championship joining the Under-16 & 15 teams in lifting their respective trophies. On Saturday, Ori Uzan’s team won their title even before they played their match.

Maccabi “Oded” visited Maccabi Netanya and lost but nonetheless won their league prior to even stepping foot on the pitch. Uzan spoke to the Official Website following their match: “It’s of course a very exciting moment and we went through a not so simple year. At the beginning of the year Eylon Almog was promoted to the Under-19 side and we were still able to start the season winning 14 of 15 games. Other players advanced as well through the ranks and we handled the situation very well considering we put together an almost brand new club.”

On how his players improved over the course of the year:

“The kids really had a magnificent year. We knew how to come and win every single big match we had be it a Derby or against Haifa. They improved tremendously as a team and two players who originally weren’t on the National Team were called up to be part of the side and that’s very important for us.”

His personal feelings about the end of the campaign:

“This was definitely the most exciting year I’ve had for sure. I came here after coaching for Ligat Ha’Al clubs and it was an adjustment that took a bit of time but I’m very happy that I was able to do this. At this age level, the feedback and the player’s learning curve is something that you won’t see anywhere else. I was able to reach my goals this season and I’ve already set my sights even higher for the next campaign. At the end of the day I’m happy that I accepted Nir’s (Levin) offer to join the Youth Department. I had a pleasure to work with and learn from him.”

Bosz: “We will give it our maximum”

Following the 2:0 victory over Beitar Jerusalem the Maccabi players were excited to hear about Maccabi Haifa’s 2:1 win over Hapoel Beer Sheva cutting the Reds lead atop the table to just two points with one Matchday remaining

Peter Bosz, Maccabi’s Head Coach spoke about the victory following the match: “I’m not speculating what will happen and I just have to deal with my team. Of course, after today’s win our chances slightly improved and that’s the only thing I’m looking at right now.”

About the Hapoel Beer Sheva/Maccabi Haifa result:

“We’re happy because we still have a chance. It’s natural to think that it’s all over when there is a 5-point gap with only two matches remaining. Now it’s only a 2-point lead for Beer Sheva but we still will have to win next week’s match which isn’t a given. But we still have a great chance.”

Beer Sheva plays Sakhnin next week:

“I’m certain just like any good sportsmen Sakhnin will want to win. Just like I want to win, but it won’t be simple. We will give it our maximum and only then will we see what is going on at Turner.

Why it was so tough to win the last few weeks:

“What’s been most difficult for us the last few weeks was to score goals. In reality, I don’t think we played as well tonight as we have the past few matches. We were a bit better in the second half than the first. At the end of the day we won and that’s what was most important against Beitar Jerusalem.”

On this evening’s Starting XI:

“If some of our players would have been given a yellow card then they would not have been able to play in the State Cup Final. In any case all of my players are in shape.

Oliel Peretz’s debut:

“He had a very good match. We never doubted his abilities and I’ve seen him during the training sessions where he was very good. But he can’t be just satisfied with what he did now as it only gets more serious from here on in. He didn’t have much pressure and expectations so now he just has to continue on his way. He may have matches where he won’t be as good so he must keep training hard.”
