Maccabi Tel Aviv's international players had a successful week-end, with midfielder Mahran Radi scoring a goal and keeper Vincent Enyeama's Nigeria qualifying for the finals of the African Cup of Nations.

Last week-end, five Maccabi Tel Aviv players played for their national teams in games that all ended in victory.  For one of them, midfielder Mahran Radi, it was an especially momentous occasion when he scored the first goal in Israel's 0-6 victory over Luxembourg.  With just four minutes gone, Radi received a deep ball from fellow midfielder Bibras Natkho and calmly finished for his first goal in just his second appearance for the national side.  Radi continued to play the entire 90 minutes, as did Maccabi midfielder Gal Alberman.  Maccabi defender Eitan Tibi was also in the starting line-up but was substituted early in the second half due to a groin injury.  He was replaced by fellow Maccabi defender Yoav Ziv just before the hour mark.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, also celebrated with his team when Nigeria's triumph over Liberia qualified them for the finals of the African Cup of Nations.  After the previous game between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw about one month ago, Enyeama – wearing the captain's band – and Nigeria won by the large margin of 6-1 guaranteeing their place in the finals scheduled to begin in South Africa this January.
