Gerard Autet, Maccabi Tel Aviv's assistant coach in recent months, has decided to leave the club for personal reasons. Autet told the official website: "I had a great time at Maccabi and in Tel Aviv but sadly due to personal circumstances I had no choice but  to put it to an abrupt end. I wish Maccabi, the players, staff and everyone at the club all the best and every success this season and in the future". Sports Director Jordi Cruyff said: "Maccabi Tel Aviv wish to thank Gerard for his contribution and efforts during his tenure as an assistant coach and wish him luck in the future".  Gerard served as assistant coach in 10 league games during which time Maccabi Tel Aviv booked seven wins and three losses.

Gerard Autet, born in Barcelona and a graduate of the youth division of the Catalonian club, joined Maccabi Tel Aviv as assistant coach in the summer of 2012 after retiring from active play.  The defender, who spent his early years in the third tier of the Spanish league, signed on with the Spanish club Levante of League Two and became a major player there.  After a single season he joined Xerez in the same league, where he made 134 appearances.  Autet then signed for Sporting de Gijon and played with the Spanish Premier League team for three seasons before returning to Xerez in the summer of 2010, playing there until the end of the 2011/12 season.
