Hundreds of fans came yesterday to the Kiryat Shalom training grounds for the Maccabi Tel Aviv Purim Festival

Yesterday the entire country celebrated the festival of Purim, and Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club were no exception. The club opened their doors at the Kiryat Shalom training ground and hundreds of fans, young and old, took advantage of the holiday to come join their favourite football club and participate in the many special activities the club had prepared to turn the grounds into a veritable Purim carnival. Those activities included tables for football snooker and regular football and Maccabi stars closing ranks to form a free kick wall for visitors to try their luck kicking over. There were also stands for taking photographs next to your favourite (cut-out) Maccabi Tel Aviv hero. But that was just a warm up for the real thing.

Maccabi Tel Aviv players arrived an hour before training and they devoted all their time to their loyal fans. They granted every request for a picture, an autograph, or happy wishes for whatever special event the fans were celebrating. Even exchanging passes was part of the fun. Some of the fans came in festive costumes but just in case a stand offering traditional Purim masks was at the ready. In addition the official Maccabi Tel Aviv shop was open offering fans the opportunity to buy a wide range of articles to paint in traditional Maccabi Tel Aviv blue and yellow colours.

After the festivities finished the Maccabi Tel Aviv players turned their attention to their afternoon training session in the run up to their National Cup tie on Wednesday night (8.50 P.M.) against Beitar Jerusalem at Bloomfield Stadium.
