The great Brazilian football star Ronaldo, the French legend Zinedine Zidane, the Portuguese great Luis Figo and also Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach Paulo Sousa all joined in last night to play a charity match for the benefit of typhoon victims in the Philippines

Paulo Sousa returned last night to Switzerland to participate in charity match supported by UEFA and broadcast throughout the world, the proceeds of which will be devoted to help the close to one million people who lost their homes in the typhoon that devastated the Philippines last November. The match, held in the city of Berne in Switzerland, saw Swiss league locals Young Boys take on a side of some of the great living legends of international football, one that included current Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach Paulo Sousa, who joined as a second half substitute the likes of French legend Zinedine Zidane, Italian great Paulo Maldini, the Portuguese stalwart Luis Figo, Czech and Juventus star Pavel Medved and many others. Overseeing the proceedings was the legendary Italian referee, Pierluigi Collina. The match ended in an 8-6 victory to Paulo's star-studded side courtesy of braces by Zidane, fellow Frenchman Youri Djorkaeff and the Italian Christian Vieri, who scored 103 goals in his six years at Inter Milan. Hakan Sukur, who scored 108 goals in his five years at Galatasary, and Paulo's fellow countryman Nuno Gomes, who boasts an impressive career at Portuguese side Benfica, contributed one goal each.
