Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club have reached agreement in principle for the sale of Munas Dabbur to Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zurich, who triggered a buy-out clause in the young striker's contract

Munas Dabbur, the 21 year-old international striker who has scored four goals this season and a total of twenty two goals since joining Maccabi in 2010 from second division (Ha'Leumit) side Maccabi Achi Nazareth, will be leaving the club to join Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zurich.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's sports director Jordi Cruyff had this to say to the club's official website: "Of course we're quite disappointed by the timing of the offer that forced us to release Munas. The club and the player's agent went to very great pains to reach an agreement on the extension of Munas' current Maccabi contract, but the activation of the buy-out clause in his contract, together with his great determination to begin his footballing career in Europe, made his transfer to Grasshopper inevitable. Munas is a young and talented striker with a big heart who has won trophies with Maccabi and is greatly admired by the club. We've always said that as a club we are not prepared to stand in the way of a player realising his dreams and so we wish him the very best of luck. For Munas the door at Maccabi Tel Aviv will always be open".

Munas himself had this to say to the club's official website: "It's always been my dream to go and play in Europe. I'm very grateful to Maccabi Tel Aviv, a club that's been a home to me and will always remain that way. I hope the transfer will go through within the next couple of days and that everything will work out for the best".
