Maccabi Tel Aviv’s business partner HISENSE held a special event where they launched their campaign for the upcoming World Cup in Russia – “Fly to the World Cup with HISENSE”. Maccabi Tel Aviv players and Yellow & Blue representatives who will play with their respective national teams were also in attendance: Vidar Kjartansson who will be with the Iceland National Team in a group with Argentina as well as Predrag Rajikovic who will play with Serbia in a group with Brazil.

As part of the campaign that was launched today, anyone who purchases a HISENSE TV will be entered into a draw and be eligible to win a trip to the World Cup. Club CEO Ben Mansford who attended the event commented: “We’re very fortunate that HISENSE is part of the Maccabi family of sponsors. I believe that Guy Edri (HISENSE CEO Israel) will promote Israel at the upcoming World Cup this summer. He has done phenomenal work and although Israel didn’t advance to the World Cup, perhaps because of HISENSE’s collaboration at the World Cup, there will be a number of Israelis who will have the opportunity to go to the tournament in Russia.”

Mansford also spoke about his plans for the upcoming summer: “It’s likely I’ll be here in Tel Aviv and I’ll try to handle the 38 degree heat. I’ll be working hard in order for us to succeed next season.”

In reference to England National Team, Mansford said: “It will be very interesting. Gareth Southgate was named in a surprising manner once Sam Allardyce lost the job. He’s playing many youngsters and it’s very refreshing and courageous. They will be hungry and it will be very interesting to see how successful they will be. I just spoke about the draw in the office and we came to the conclusion that England was drawn into a fairly comfortable group. We will have to wait and see as to what will happen.”

HISENSE CEO Guy Edri spoke about the company’s plans for the upcoming World Cup: “The upcoming World Cup is an excellent opportunity for sports fans in the country to go to a global event in which the sponsors are helping them get there. We are launching this program in which the people of Israel have a chance to go to the World Cup if they buy a TV. It’s a terrific opportunity for us to give the World Cup Experience to our fans in Israel.”

About the partnership with Maccabi: “Maccabi is an example of how a professional club should be managed. They operate at a European level, which was something that wasn’t found in Israel before Maccabi and that’s why we are collaborating with the club as a global brand. We looked for a club that had the same values as ours. It’s an honor for us that there will be two Maccabi players who will be at the World Cup, Kjartansson and Rajikovic. As a sponsor, it gives us great pride and we are happy that they are with us today.”
