Maor Kandil

A product of Bnei Yehuda’s Youth Department, Kandil had his first taste of senior football as he joined Maccabi Kabilio Yafo where he scored twice in 26 appearances for the third division side. In 2014/15 he joined Ramat Hasharon from the second division, scoring twice again in 30 appearances. Kandil then returned to Bnei Yehuda for the 2015/16 season and in his debut season of top flight football made 11 appearances in all competitions. The following season he scored his debut goal in the top flight against Ashdod in May before rounding off a successful season with a State Cup medal, beating Maccabi in the final less than a fortnight later. Last season, Kandil scored twice and added 37 more appearances for Bnei Yehuda to reach a total of 73 appearances in three seasons.

Kandil joined Maccabi from Bnei Yehuda shortly before the start of the 2018/19 season. In his first season wearing Yellow and Blue, the right-back made 22 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and adding three assists to win his first ever championship. The 2019/20 season, saw Kandil add another assist in 11 appearances in all competitions for the team that won the 24th championship in the club’s history.

Chico Ofoedu

Ofoedu made his first footballing steps at Nigerian outfit Enugu Rangers IFC where he made his senior debut at the age of 18. In 2012 and at the age of 20, Ofeodu, moved to Turkey and joined Trabzonspor on loan for which he scored 8 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions. A switch to Karsiyaka the following season (2013/14) saw Ofoedu score 11 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions which led to a January switch to Samsunspor.

The Nigerian forward enjoyed a successful 18-month long spell at Samsuspor where he scored 21 goals in 49 appearances which earned himself another move to his fourth Turkish club. Ofoedu began the 2016/17 campaign at Eskisehirspor and in two seasons notched 19 goals in 58 appearances in all competitions.

In the summer of 2018, Ofoedu joined Maccabi Tel Aviv FC on a free transfer and signed a 2-year-deal at the Club.

Shahar Piven

Shahar Piven grew up through the ranks of the Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Department and after finishing his Under-19 career was loaned out to Beitar Tel Aviv/Ramle and Ashdod where he played in 2017/18.

 Piven returned to the club at the start of the 2018/19 season. The central defender scored his senior debut goal in the 4-1 Toto Cup victory over Hapoel Tel Aviv and made 30 appearances in all competitions before winning the championship. In 2019/20 Piven won his second championship in succession at Maccabi making 22 appearances during which he scored one league goal.

Ruslan Barsky

Ruslan Barsky grew up in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s youth department and shared in the junior team’s double title in 2010/11. That season, Barsky missed only two League games and scored one goal in the League and another in the junior national cup tournament. Bersky began the 2011/12 season as captain of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s junior team, scoring three goals in only 13 games. However, he was forced to take the bench due to a complex foot injury that immobilized him for many months.

Over the course of the last few seasons, Barsky was loaned to Bnei Yehuda, Maccabi Kabilyo Yaffo, Hapoel Jerusalem, Beitar Tel Aviv/Ramle and Hapoel Haifa where he was an integral part of the club for the 2017/18 season. In the summer of 2018, the midfielder returned to the Yellow & Blue and travelled with the Club to its preseason training camp.

Mavis Tchibota

The Congolese striker Mavis Tchibota came to Maccabi Tel Aviv as an 18-year old during the 2012/13 season and began to train with the Under-17s. His exceptional talents first emerged during an international Under-17 tournament in Germany, where Tchibota finished as the competition’s highest scorer with five goals and the title of the tournament’s outstanding player. In May of 2013, Tchibota helped his side finish third in a tournament attended by Under-17 teams from German sides Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart and FC Cologne and Swiss champions FC Basel. In 2013/14 Tchibota played for Maccabi’s Under-19s and at the beginning of the 2014/15 season he joined the senior squad at their pre-season training camp in Austria.

During the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, Tchibota was loaned to Hapoel Kfar Saba while in 2017/18 he was loaned out to Bnei Yehuda. The summer of 2018 saw the winger return to Maccabi and attended its preseason training camp.

Enric Saborit

The Spanish left-back, 187cm, joined Maccabi in the summer of 2018 from Athletic Bilbao, where he made 23 appearances last season in all competitions for the La Liga club he joined in 2010. Saborit, was loaned out by the Basque club in 2014/15 and spent a season with Mallorca for which he made 18 appearances in all competitions. The Barcelona born defender emerged from RCD Espanyol’s youth academy and represented his country at U19, U18 and U17 levels.

Immediately after joining Maccabi, Saborit, played a key role in Vladimir Ivic’s team. Saborit, won the league title at the end of the 2018/19 season after scoring 3 goals and 4 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions. The Spanish born left-back, maintained his good form during the 2019/20 season as well, scoring 1 goal and assisting three more in 37 appearances – to win his second league title.
