Maccabi Tel Aviv returned to the top of the table after a 2-1 home win against Maccabi Netanya, courtesy of an Eliran Atar penalty and a Robert earnshaw goal. Dragan Charan scored Netanya's temporary equaliser

Maccabi Tel Aviv fans spent their evening between bouts of mania and depression but left Bloomfield Stadium with smiles on their faces afterstriker Robert Earnshaw's 77th minute goal earned Maccabi Tel Aviv a 2-1 win over Maccabi Netanya.  Even on the way to the stadium, the sense of depression carried over from the loss to Haifa was replaced by feelings of joy in light of HaPoel Tel Aviv's outcome at Kiryat Eliezer.  Optimism increased once again in Minute 4, following a goal by Eliran Atar.  However, this feeling was quashed 30 minutes later and replaced by frustration as the guest scored a tying goal.  13 minutes to the end, Robert Earnshaw found the net up close and allowed the fans to go out and celebrate the team's return to first place.  After three games, the yellow team is back to winning, once again taking over and looking at the league from the top.

Maccabi Tel Aviv started out with a great deal of enthusiasm and was rewarded for it in Minute 4 after Ziv Eldar whistled a penalty kick. The leagues top scorer, Eliran Atar, went to get the job done, kicking an accurate ball to the corner of Luigi Cennamo's goal.  Atar managed to find the net once again after a group effort, but the lineman rejected the goal, arguing an offside.  From here on, the game seemed to balance out – on the one hand, Dor Micha was especially active while, on the other, Yarden Cohen led the guest's offensives.  The yellow team let up a bit and that cost them a goal after Cheran was left open at Minute 39.  Atar and Gonzalo continued to try their luck until halftime, but the score remained unchanged.

The game did not demonstrate outstanding football as the second half opened, although Maccabi Tel Aviv had more possession of the ball.  Oscar put Gael Marguelis onto the field for his second league appearance in less than one week, as well as Welsh forward, Robert Earnshaw.  The pressure grew stronger, Radi tried his luck twice, kicking from the 16m line, Alberman scraped the post and Marguelis nearly scored with the help of the defender, but the ball just didn’t go in.  15 minutes to the end, the balls whistled through the guest's 5m box and, at Minute 77, the yellow team were rewarded.  Marguelis found Radi at the corner of the field, the latter rammed through the line and sent a lateral ball to Earnshaw who scored the winning goal.  Just one week after stepping down from the top, Maccabi Tel Aviv is back in first place.
