This morning, Maccabi Tel Aviv's Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who will be leaving the country this week, said his farewells to the professional staff and all his teammates at the Kiryat Shalom training grounds

Vincent Enyeama, who played his last game of the season last night, was very happy to round off that season with a victory in the Tel Aviv Derby: "There's nothing more precious than to end the season with a Derby win". Besides these emotions, he took time out to discuss his future: "As things stand at the moment, this will be my last match of the season, since I won't be appearing next week. Of course anything is possible, that depends first of all on Maccabi. I'm sure (sports director) Jordi (Cruyff) and Maccabi will know what to do. I'll be sitting down with my home club Lille in France and I'll see what plans they have for me. I'm under contract there and we'll have to see what happens".

Sports director Jordi Cruyff had this to say to the official Maccabi Tel Aviv website: "We would like to thank Vincent for his outstanding contribution to the club this season and we wish him the best of luck with the Nigerian national team this summer. In the coming weeks we'll continue to follow developments concerning his future". Before leaving Vincent had this message for the whole Maccabi family: "I want to thank all the players, all the fans, everybody at the club, I love this club and I love Israel, it's an absolutely brilliant country. You've given back to me the confidence I lost last year, I am ever so grateful to you all for that".

Enyeama will be facing any number of challenges in the near future, with a particularly congested fixture schedule for the Nigerian national team. After an international friendly against Mexico, he and his Nigerian teammates will be facing Kenya and Namibia in qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup. Shortly thereafter in mid-June they're off to Brazil for the group stage of the Confederations Cup, where they will face the national teams of Tahiti, Spain and Uruguay.
