Maccabi Tel Aviv players went to the Ichilov “Dana” Hospotal today and visited the youngsters who are being cared for in the children’s ward. Nikola Mitrovic, Shlomi Azulay, Yoav Ziv, Oz Raly and Eden Ben Basat came straight from practice with tons of Maccabi Tel Aviv gifts that they handed out to the kids.

Striker Eden Ben Basat spoke at the hospital about this important act: “If we make the children feel good then that’s the most important thing we can do. Everything comes into proportion here between life and sports and these good things should be blessed.”

On the hype of the upcoming Champions League matches:

“Everything around the ticket sales and the amount of supporters who are planning on coming to see us play is great, but we are concentrating on the upcoming match we have next week against Bnei Yehuda. There’s a feeling of euphoria but it’s not a word we want to bring up at Maccabi. We will be ready and we are aware of the challenges that lie ahead of us.”

On his current position with the club:

“It’s no secret that I want to play as much as possible. I work very hard and when I get the call it’s deserving and I make sure to do the best as I can to justify the coach’s decision. I try to stay positive and that everything will be OK. When I get the chance to play it gives me extra motivation to work even harder as I know that a striker needs to score goals and has to give it all on the pitch.”

Maccabi’s new defensive back Oz Raly also spoke about the opportunity to visit the children

“It’s a Mitzvah (good deed) to make children happy. It’s an honor for us as footballers to come and visit.”

On his recent transfer to Maccabi:

“It’s an honor to represent Maccabi Tel Aviv, a top notch club with a huge fan base. Many people congratulated me and wished me well, plus I didn’t sleep all night because I was so excited about coming to my first practice this morning, but now I’m good. I’m happy that the transfer was completed but now it’s up to me to prove myself worthy. It’s a new place with new energy and amazing facilities. The professional staff is great and it’s a recipe for success.”
