What was Maccabi’s Best European Campaign?
Champions League 2004/05
One of the historic campaigns in the franchise’s history saw Maccabi Tel Aviv advance to the Champions League Group Stages for the first time as they recorded some fantastic results. One of the best memories was the 2:1 win over Ajax that featured young stars such as Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van de Vaart. The 1:1 draw versus Juventus was also as impressive as the Yellow & Blue faced the likes of Fabio Cannavaro, Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero, Gianluca Zambrotta, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Gianluigi Buffon (who didn’t play in the match).

Europa League 2013/14
In terms of results this was the most successful campaign in Maccabi’s history. Paulo Sousa’s Yellow & Blue defeated Frankfurt 4:2, beat Bordeaux twice, drew APOEL two times while only losing once to Frankfurt. The outcome was a ticket to the Round of 32 where they met Basel for a two-legged tie who ended their campaign.

Maccabi may have had a tough time in the group stages, but the journey to get there was no less than exhilarating in one of the most impressive qualification competitions by any Israeli club. It began in the 3rd round against Viktoria Plzen with a huge 2:0 away win and went to Basel where the Yellow & Blue drew 2:2 in Switzerland and picked up a 1:1 draw at Bloomfield Stadium to advance to the biggest club tournament on earth.

Europa League 2016/17
Last season saw Maccabi appear in European group stages once again, one where they had hoped to advance to the Round of 32. That may not have happened but the Yellow & Blue recorded 7 points with 3 coming in Holland as Eyal Golasa’s spectacular goal helped defeat Alkmaar.

Traveling with the Club to Prague? Here’s all you need to know
Maccabi Tel Aviv will visit the Eden Arena Stadium on Thursday September 14th and face Slavia Prague on Matchday 1 of the Europa League Group Stages. Are you planning on traveling to support the club? Great! All of the rules and guidelines to attend the match are below:
General Instructions
- The Czech Republic Police prohibit the use of pyrotechnics of any kind whether in the street/field open area/stadium the use is in violation of the law.
- The stadium is non-smoking and it’s prohibited to enter the facility with a lighter or matches.
- There is no storage at the stadium and it is prohibited to enter with large bags/suitcases.
- The stadium will open two hours ahead of the start of the match.
- It is prohibited to move between stands and therefore a ticket for Stand 3, sections 119-121 must be bought (see the stadium map below).
- The purchase of a ticket to the stadium may be dine by showing a copy of your Teudat Zehut Photo ID or passport.
Entrance to the Stadium will not be permitted under the following circumstances:
- Failure to show a copy of a photo ID
- Under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Fans who are recognized as potential disturbances over the course of the match.
- Those who are asked to leave the Stadium during the course of a security check.
The following items are not permitted to be brought inot the stadium:
- Weapons or any other item that may be used as a weapon
- Alcohol, drugs or other illegal substances
- Bottles or any other type of type of container (plastic, glass, aluminum etc…)
- Any type of pyrotechnics
- Banners, Flags or similar etc…
- Megaphones, bullhorns, drums, whistles etc…
- Certain items may be approved by the local police
- Approved banners must be fire resistant.
- All fans must heed the police and security directives.
It is forbidden:
- To be in any area that is off limits
- Climb on the building structure
- Block or create a barrier at any entrance, exit, passageway or staircase
- Throw any object on the pitch
- Display any offensive or racist statement
The event organizer and police may take any of the following decisions:
- Delay or stoppage of the match
- To hold the fans in the stadium for a period of time following the match
- Evacuate part or all of the stadium
- There are security cameras all around the stadium and the event organizer can use any or all of these videos and transfer to any third party for any purpose
- Any fan who is ejected from the stadium will not receive a refund of the ticket.
Ticket Sales Maccabi Netanya Away Match
Maccabi Tel Aviv will play Maccabi Netanya on Matchday 4 of the Israel Premier League Ligat Ha’Al on Monday September 18th at the Netanya Stadium and will look to keep up the positive momentum from the last couple of league contests. Tickets are now on sale and Maccabi fans will be seated in the Upper East Section of the Stadium (unreserved)
Please Note: This match is part of the Points Allocation System and season ticket holders will receive 2 points for this contest while non-season ticket holders will receive 1 point. Make sure that when tickets are purchased via the Leaan Website, telephone or Leaan Ticket Office the season ticket number is used in order to receive full points. Should the purchase not be done by using the season ticket number points will not be allocated.
Should a ticket be purchased and the fan doesn’t attend the match, there will be no refunds and no points will be allocated.

Tickets may be collected at the Leaan Ticket Office located at 101 Dizengoff Street between Sunday-Thursday 09:00-19:00, Friday 09:00-13:30.
Tickets may be collected on Matchday at the Stadium ticket windows beginning 3 hours prior to the match and up until 45 minutes after its start.

The Youth Department Welcomes 12 New Players
The 2017/18 season is underway for the Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Department. There are 12 new players between the ages of 14 and 17 who have joined the club and are looking to advance and improve both as individuals and as part of their respective teams. The club would also like to wish them the best of luck for the season ahead.
The new players will receive all of the necessary tools to succeed through the various departments of the Academy including Sports Science, Medical and Physiological just like all of the other players. Topics such as education, nutrition and lifestyle will also be part of the youth department’s focus.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv FC Youth Academy is dedicated to football development which includes a strong commitment and a fighting spirit by all the players. The main goal of the youth department is to develop as many talented players as possible and to help turn them into professional footballers. The Under-19 Club, Maccabi Shachar” Tel Aviv opened their season this Saturday as they drew 1:1 against Beitar Jerusalem while the Under-16 squad on Matchday 2 defeated Ironi Modiin 9:0.

The Israel Youth Premier League Ligat Ha’Al 2017/18 season opened for the Under-19’s as they met Beitar Jerusalem on Matchday 1. The match ended in a 1:1 draw as the young Yellow & Blue finished the match with 10-men. Eylon Almog was the Maccabi goal scorer. For the full match report CLICK HERE.
Maccabi “Eli Fuchs” Tel Aviv 9:0 Ironi Modiin
After a loss last week to open the season, the U16’s found the back of the goal early and often as Yali Lazar and Tal Trojman each scored a brace while Yishay Bozorgi, Maikel Mor and Ron Yossef all added markers. Assistant coach Leon Asraf summed up the win: “It’s important to score and to know how to get the best out of these types of matches.”

Prematch
The Youth Israel Premier League season got underway this Saturday and Maccabi “Shachar” Tel Aviv hosted Beitar Jerusalem on Matchday 1 of the 2017/18 campaign. Head Coach Guy Tzarfati’s Starting XI was a combination of veteran players along with new recruits that included Tomer Altman, Eylon Almog, Prince Thomas along with newcomers keeper Daniel Peretz and Amit Glezer.
First Half
Beitar’s first chance came in the ‘5 when Roie Fadida approached the Maccabi goal alone, but defender Noam Cohen was able to send the ball out for a corner kick. In the ’12 Fadida again threatened the Yellow & Blue once again but the striker’s attempt went out.
However, Beitar took the lead in the ’16 when Fadida took a cross from Uriel Fredo and slotted the ball home from in close for a 1:0 lead. Two minutes later Fadida missed a chance to double his side’s lead while in the ’23 Altman had Maccabi’s first chance of the contest when he received a terrific pass from Thomas but his opportunity was saved by the keeper.
In the ’31, Netanel Peretz took a long range attempt but his shot went out. Four minutes later the hosts almost drew even when Thomas handed the ball off to Eyal Hen, but his fine chance just missed the post by centimeters while Eden Kartsev’s attempt hit the post as the young Yellow & Blue attack began to heat up. In the ’42 Hen’s fine cross found Almog but his header was saved by the Beitar keeper as the visitors took a 1:0 advantage into the break.
Second Half
The second half opened well for Maccabi as Altman’s opportunity just went over the goal but finally in the ’52 the hosts tied up the contest. Altman sent a deep ball to Almog who found the corner of the goal to draw the U19’s even at 1:1.
Kartsev tried his luck from long range in the ’55 but his ball went out, while a corner found Thomas but his header also missed the target. Fadida’s ’61 chance went over the bar for Beitar and two minutes later Maccabi was left with 10-men as Ran Vaturi’s reckless tackle earned him a red card. With the match moving into the midfield Maccabi would have one more solid chance to find the winner via Mufleh Shalata in the ’90 who came on as a substitute but the Jerusalem defense cleared the ball from danger and the match ended in a 1:1 draw.
